Passion Food specializes in providing catering services to various international schools in the Zurich, Zug, and Basel regions. Our commitment is to deliver high-quality food products that support your child’s development and learning. With a team of over 25 skilled professionals, we serve a combined student population of nearly 3,000 each day.
In addition to student meals, we offer hot meals and fresh salads to staff members at each campus, ensuring a nutritious and satisfying dining experience for all.

Company Philosophy
Fresh Ingredients
We prioritize the use of over 90% fresh ingredients in all our dishes. Convenience products are generally excluded from our kitchens. Through our extensive network of suppliers, we source seasonal vegetables and fruits, which we prepare with care to preserve essential nutrients and minerals. Seasonal ingredients are a fundamental part of our culinary approach. We avoid using factory-cooked frozen vegetables, except for peas and green beans, which are the only exceptions; all other vegetables are hand-cut by our passionate team.
Commitment to Local Suppliers and Quality
We strive to work with local suppliers and prioritize Swiss products whenever they meet our rigorous quality standards and fit within our budget. Our focus is always on sourcing the best quality ingredients available.
Transparency and Integrity
Passion Food is committed to honesty in our offerings. For example, if our menu features beef meatballs, you can be assured they are made from 100% beef, with no mixing of meats.
Passion Food Team Changes at Riverside
After more than 20 years with Passion Food at the Riverside Campus, our longest-serving team member, Reto Alplanalp has decided to embrace a well-deserved retirement. Throughout his tenure, he has never missed a single day and has contributed not only a fantastic lunch offering but also a personality that will be fondly remembered for years to come. We thank him for his dedicated service and the positive impact he has made over the years. Wishing Reto all the best in this new chapter of his life!
Incoming Head Chef Jürg Reinhard has taking over responsibilities from Reto since October. Jürg, along with his wife Anuschka, began managing the newly introduced Food Truck at ISZL last August. Both are long-term Passion Food employees, and we are delighted to have been able to retain and integrate them into the Riverside team as the new leadership wave post Reto.
They have big shoes to fill, but we are fully confident that, with their experience and passion for gastronomy, they will embrace the challenge, uphold our high standards, and bring fresh ideas to continue making the Riverside Food Programme something to be proud of for many years to come.
